Course Description
This four-part seminar will address how social movements are evolving in in an increasingly connected global community. Using U.S social movements -- Civil Rights, the Tea Party, Occupy Wall Street, and Black Lives Matter -- as case studies, we will examine how 21st century advances are affecting the goals, methods, and effectiveness of social and political movements. Drawing on lessons from these examples we will deconstruct success in the age of 'Hashtag Activism.'
